NGC 4631 "Whale Galaxy"
Friday, December 26th 2008 - 23:00 (UTC) - focal ratio f/4.5
This galaxy was a bit futher away from polaris, and this time I really was limited to 5 seconds subs (and even then I had to throw away 50% of my frames...). Luckily the galaxy has a rather high surface brightness, so there is still plenty of detail visible.
For this image I used 274 frames of 5 seconds exposure each. I might try to get some color data for this galaxy in the next couple of weeks.
